Call of the Wild Winter Tartan Kilt for Men

The Call of the Wild Winter tartan was created for Highland Outfitters by The House of Edgar with Liberty and Hamish Martin. Dated 2023 and registered in 2024 as a fashion tartan, its colours were chosen to recall winter fires, evergreen holly, ivy and pine, plus the icy blue of the River Tay.

Deep burgundy forms the main ground, joined by broad green sections and dark navy bands that appear almost black in shaded areas. Fine blue guard lines pass through the larger checks, and narrow orange-yellow overchecks add warmth and definition. The mix feels rich and seasonal, with darker colours giving the brighter lines a clear place in the sett.

The smooth front apron presents the larger burgundy and green sections without breaking their shape. Evenly aligned pleats at the back retain the tartan pattern and open naturally during movement, giving the kilt a comfortable drape and structured fit. Pair it with a black Argyll jacket and waistcoat for weddings, a dark tweed jacket for winter events, or a plain shirt for Highland games and informal gatherings.
